Did you know?

The Inala Reserve:

  • is home to 95 species of birds including all 12 Tasmanian endemic species;
  • has one of the largest known colonies of the endangered and endemic Forty-spotted Pardalote;  
  • has 12 registered nest hollows used by the critically endangered Swift Parrot;
  • regularly visited by four other threatened bird species – Wedge-tailed Eagle, White-bellied Sea-Eagle, Grey Goshawk and Masked Owl; 
  • hosts a large population of Bennett’s Wallabies including the rare ‘white’ colour morph; 
  • has almost 40 species of native terrestrial orchids, including 4 rare species; and
  • has an amazing diversity of other plant species and mammals, reptiles and amphibians, including other rare and threatened species.
